Paula Yates Is Found Dead

PAULA YATES has been found dead in her London home. The former host of the BBC's Big Breakfast was probably best known as the former wife of both Bob Geldof and the late INXS frontman, Michael Hutchence. It was claimed by Yates at the time that Hutchence's suicide was due to the stress put on the couple by her former husband, Geldof. Cause of death is not known at this time, though reports are circulating that Yates had been recently treated for depression. She leaves behind 4 children and a world of people who'll miss her inane banter with popstars.

Unbelievable Truth Split

Bad news for fans of THE UNBELIEVABLE TRUTH, because the unbelievable truth is that they're splitting. Rumours had been circulating for a few months, and now they've been realized with an announcement this week on the band's official website. For those not in the know, UT is led by Andy Yorke, younger brother of Radiohead's Thom. Following a farewell gig next month, Yorke has decided apparantly to quit the music business altogether in favor of "work involving Russia and Eastern Europe."

Noel and Meg Separate

Hey, who's that down at the singles bar? Why, it looks like Liam AND brother NOEL GALLAGHER, who has announced his separation from wife-about-town Meg Matthews. Maybe now they can set about making a good record for a change... (Ed. note: And make it they shall, as NME is reporting that the band want to enter the studio right away to begin work on their new album.)

Fatboy Slim Samples Jim Morrison

FATBOY SLIM has been making the news lately, with the word that his new album is nearly finished. "Halfway Between the Gutter and the Stars" is set to come out on November 7th.

Move Along, There's No Oasis News Here

Just to update on the OASIS story from last weekend, looks like The Sun was a bit wrong in their claim that the Gallaghers would be making an announcement Tuesday. Nothing was said regarding the future of the band, other than the boys taking the stage at Leeds in a solidarity stand-in before Noel remarked to the crowd, "This is not a f**king funeral!" So, hey, more zany fun to come, it seems. Maybe they'll let Andy write a song or two...

Fatboy Slim Leaks

According to an official leak, the new FATBOY SLIM album will be called, "Halfway Between the Gutter and the Stars" and has a release date of November 6th. The first single is called "Bird of Prey" and that will be released on October 16th. Norman Cook is putting the final touches on the album at his home studio in Brighton. The full details of the album will be released on September 1st.

The Oasis News Is: There Will Be Oasis News

It could be the moment of truth for OASIS. Take this with as many grains of salt as you normally would for a news item taken straight from The Sun, but according to the Brit tabloid, Noel Gallagher will be making "an announcement" on Tuesday. Is the band done? Is Robbie going down? Is the Damon duet on? How will we sleep this weekend????? Of course, we'll keep you updated as things happen - and keep in mind that Oasis are playing Reading this very weekend.
